After Grady, I went to UGA (along with a lot of other Grady-ites) and graduated from there in 1973. Married my high school girlfriend (Connie ) while still at Georgia and am happy to report that we are still married after over 48 years. I think that has to be a near record for our class (with the exception of the Holden's).
Having worked in retail during college, I went to work for Richway Stores in their merchandising organziation and rose through the ranks for 10 years. In 1983, we moved to the Boston area where I was VP of Merchandising for Child World Stores, a 200 store chain of toy stores.
In 1987, we moved to South Florida where I was fortunate to be one of the founding executives of The Sports Authority - and we have lived in Boca Raton for over 32 years! After we sold The Sports Authority, I stayed on until 1993 and then launched one other start-up business, have been an executive with a Toy Manufacturer and am presently CEO of a growing Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy Company.
Connie and I are most proud of our kids...Lisa, 45, and her husband, Scott, live in Denver. Lisa is a Health Care Consultant to the Federal Gov't and is the proud Mom of Mara. Brad, 39, and his wife, Claire, are living in Baltimore with their 2 boys and 1 daughter, where he is presently Director of Education for Baltimore Hebrew Congregation.
Our 4 grandchildren are our pride and joy and we enjoy visiting and having them visit us.
Unfortunately, we only get back to Atlanta for family life cycle events - weddings, bar mitzvahs and funerals but welcome all visitors to South Florida!
